The 4th annual 8K USATF-certified Ache Around the Lake benefits the St. Luke's Hospital Foundation in their efforts to bring "exceptional care close to home" to the residents of the Polk County, NC and Upstate, SC region. The Foundation supports St. Luke's Hospital, an acute and primary care hospital located in Columbus, NC.
The 8K course winds around the hilly lake roads encircling Lake Lanier in the Tryon, NC area. The Ache course offers everyone a unique challenge--from elite runners who want to take on fast hills to walkers in search of a vigorous, heart-healthy workout. This year, we've added a smaller, beginner-friendly challenge: the scenic two-mile "Ouch"! All race proceeds benefit the Foundation.
